Mears Law was founded by Carissa Mears, a results oriented lawyer with nearly a decade’s worth of professional legal experience. 

Carissa’s legal experience is diverse, having clerked for judges and provided advice to corporations and individuals in variety of specialized areas.

She has expertise and experience in risk management and governance in the areas of privacy and responsible A.I, gained at some of Canada’s largest multinational corporations. 

She has led teams of AI policy researchers from across the world through her work with the Center for AI and Digital Policy in Washington D.C.

Carissa is called to the bar in Ontario, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. She holds a LL.B. and is an LLM. Candidate at Osgoode Law School in Privacy and Cybersecurity Law where she has conducted a significant research paper on Global A.I. Regulation.
